Wood Fibre Insulation

IreBuild is recognised by Unger Diffutherm as an UdiCertified Installer of their wood fibre insulation systems.

These systems provide a sustainable alternative to harmful insulative products, that allows your building to breathe – eliminating moisture and damp build up.

The external wall insulation system, UdiRECO, can be broken down into three stages of installation. Here you can see how we applied the technology to a farm house in Dartmoor national park:

1. Eave extensions

To accommodate for the thickness of the wood fibre boards, the eaves of the roof must be extended.

2. Wood fibre boards

Once the eaves have been extended, the wood fibre boards can be installed onto the faces of the external walls using UdiASSEMBLY masonry fixings – eliminating the need for adhesives.

3. Plaster finish

After the walls have been clad in wood fibre boards, it can then be given a base coat of plaster, followed by a mesh and then finished with a final coat of plaster.
